The protection of personal data is a top priority for Scitec Kft.
The purpose of this Data Protection Information is to provide full information – in accordance with the general data protection regulation No. 2016/679 of the EU (‘GDPR’) and the Hungarian Act CXII of 2011 (hereinafter referred to as ‘Privacy Act’) – on the data processing practice of Scitec Kft. for the visitors of webpages operated by Scitec Kft. and for the data subjects of marketing-related data processing of Scitec Kft.
Personal data falling under the scope of this Data Protection Information are processed by Scitec Kft. (registered seat: H-2120 Dunakeszi, Csörsz árok köz 2., central place of business: H-1138 Budapest, Váci út 178., registering body: Budapest Environs Regional Court as Court of Registry; company reg. no.: 13-09-178132; hereinafter referred to as ‘Scitec’) upon the voluntary agreement of the data subjects thereto.
Scitec Kft. is entitled to process the recorded personal data for as long as the purpose of data processing exists, but latest until the withdrawal of the respective consent by the data subject. Scitec shall proceed in the course of data processing in compliance with data protection requirements. Within this framework, Scitec shall take the technical and organizational measures and establish the procedural rules that are required for the compliance with data protection and confidentiality provisions.
On its webpages, Scitec uses Google Analytics program (https://policies.google.com/privacy/update?hl=en), for the purpose of preparing statistic details and analyzing the number and behavior of visitors reaching such webpages. The referred program places so-called cookies on the visitor’s computer for the purpose of data collection. By using the program, Scitec gains information on how many visitors reached its webpages and how much time such visitors spent on the webpages. The program recognizes the visitor’s IP address and thus can see if the visitor reaches the webpage for the first time or not, furthermore the program is able to follow the route taken by the visitor, including the pages the visitor has entered.
All interested persons are provided with the possibility of contacting Scitec through the Internet. Concerned persons are allowed to submit questions through the websites of Scitec (available in several languages), subject to recording their names and contact details and selecting the type of question. Personal data recorded this way will be processed by Scitec until the withdrawal of the respective consent by the data subject, but for a maximum of 3 years following the submission of the question. Such personal data are available for the competent colleagues of the Marketing Department of Scitec only, who are subject to confidentiality obligation.
All interested persons are provided with the possibility of raising fitness or products related questions through Scitec’s website. In order to answer a question, Scitec records the full text of the question, the gender, age, height, weight, and e-mail address of the querying person, furthermore, in case of product related question, the type and name of the relevant product. Special and other personal data are processed by Scitec in order to provide a comprehensive and responsible answer to the given question. When a question is answered, the querying person shall receive a notification to his/her e-mail address. By recording his/her personal data and submitting the question, the querying person expressly acknowledges that both the text of the question and the answer given thereto will be disclosed on the website of Scitec in a way that renders the identification of the querying person impossible.
Personal data recorded this way will be processed by Scitec until the withdrawal of the respective consent by the data subject, but for a maximum of 3 years following the answering of the question. Such personal data are available for the competent colleagues of the Marketing Department of Scitec only.
Answers provided by Scitec serve the sole purpose of supporting fitness lifestyle, are for information only, and may not be deemed as a medical opinion.
The opinions of consumers are a top priority for Scitec; hence, concerned persons are provided with the possibility of sending feedback via Scitec’s website on the products manufactured or distributed by Scitec. In the course of sending such feedback, the consumer shall record his/her name, e-mail address, the city of his/her residence, the type of product, the score awarded by him/her, and his/her detailed opinion. Personal data recorded this way will be processed by Scitec until the withdrawal of the respective consent by the data subject, but for a maximum of 3 years, for the purpose of contacting the data subject in connection with the feedback given by him/her. Such personal data are available for the competent colleagues of the Marketing Department of Scitec only, who are subject to confidentiality obligation. By submitting the feedback, the concerned person expressly acknowledges that his/her feedback will be freely available on the website of Scitec (on the subpage dedicated to the evaluated product) in a way that the personal data of the person giving such feedback will not be disclosed.
Upon the express and voluntary consent of data subjects, to be granted in advance, Scitec may send newsletters about its products, its operation, and sportsmen and events sponsored by it. For this purpose, Scitec shall be entitled to record, store, and process the names and e-mail addresses of the persons who registered themselves for the receipt of such newsletters, until the withdrawal of the respective consent. Such personal data are available for the competent colleagues of the Marketing Department of Scitec only, who are subject to confidentiality obligation.
Moreover, as data processor, The Rocket Science Group, LLC (registered seat: 675 Ponce de Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, hereinafter referred to as the ‘Data Processor’) shall be entitled to proceed with technical operations related to the compilation and distribution of newsletters and have access to Scitec’s newsletter database for this purpose. Data processing shall take place by using the servers of the Data Processor located in a third country. Given that the Data Processor is certified to be in full compliance with the requirements of the EU–USA Privacy Shield Frameworks, the adequate protection of data processed by it isensured.
Upon the request of the data subject, Scitec shall provide information on the data handled or processed by it, or processed by the data processor commissioned by it, the source of such data, the purpose, legal ground, and term of data processing, the name and address of the data processor and its activity related to data processing. Scitec shall provide the information within the shortest possible deadline from the submission of the request, but latest within 25 days, in a clear and unambiguous form. Information shall be provided in writing, if requested so by the data subject. If the data subject has not submitted an information request to the data controller concerning the same scope of data in the same year, the information shall be provided free of charge. Request for information may be submitted in writing, addressed to the Data Protection Officer of Scitec Kft. (H-1138 Budapest, Váci út 178.), or sent to the following e-mail address: firstname.lastname@example.org. Additionally, the data subject may request the deletion and blocking of the data; furthermore, he/she shall be entitled to turn to the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information or to the competent court for remedy.
